Decks

I have a number of different decks I use, any of which you may choose for your reading. Here is some information on each deck, as well as links to photos of the cards. This will help you in making your decision (pictures of your cards will be included with your reading). If you have no deck preference, or are not sure which one would be best, I will simply choose the deck that feels best-suited to your reading.

Fey TarotThe Fey Tarot by Mara Aghem and Riccardo Minetti is a delightful deck that appeals to all ages, using almost anime-style faery folk as its focus. Don’t be fooled, however, by this sweet facade – the fey are surprisingly honest and real. There’s no sugar-coating here. I use the Fey when I want a little whimsy without the fluff of other decks that are easy on the eyes.

Golden Botticelli TarotThe Golden Botticelli Tarot by A. Atanassov collects Botticelli’s artwork in a deck that shines with history and gold foil. The cards themselves are even more beautiful in person. This is a great deck if you’re a fan of great art or the finer things in life. I use it when I want to feel like a part of history. It is a gentle deck that is full of insight and perspective.

Housewives TarotThe Housewives Tarot by Jude Buffum and Paul Keffel channels the life of the 1950s homemaker. These kitschy cards features everything from food to fashion, and are executed in a way that is both relatable and humorous. I use the Housewives Tarot when I want to take a light-hearted approach to a reading. Nonetheless, these cards are blunt.

Hudes Tarot
The Hudes Tarot
by Susan Hudes uses watery imagery combined with maps and astrological charts to transform the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith tarot imagery, creating something that feels grounded and otherworldly at the same time. This was my first deck, and I turn to it when I’m feeling nostalgic or want a straight, honest answer, but one that comes gently.

Lunatic TarotThe Lunatic Tarot by Evan Yi Feng is a Japanese tarot deck that is primarily character-driven. Traditional symbolism takes a backseat to mood, body language and style. The characters in this deck are dressed (when they are) in what could be described as neo-Victorian gothic or “lolita” garb, and are portrayed in a very adult manner. But this is a serious, sophisticated deck.

Morgan-Greer TarotThe Morgan-Greer Tarot by Bill Greer and Lloyd Morgan is a vibrant, energetic deck overflowing with mood and 70s-style imagery (as it should be, having been made in that era). This deck is honest, straight-forward and very expressive, and sticks fairly close to traditional symbolism. It also adds a warm touch of colour to any reading.

Tarot of the Cat PeopleThe Tarot of the Cat People by Karen Kuykendall used to scare me – now, it’s one of my favourite decks! This fantastical journey into the world of the cat people is one you might want to take if you’re a cat person, or a fan of luxurious costume. If not, however, you might want to sit this one out. I use this deck when I’m feeling solitary and catty.

Tarot of PragueThe Tarot of Prague by Karen Mahony and Alex Ukolov of Magic Realist Press photo-collages a range of historical artwork and architecture from around the magical city of Prague, creating a deck as diverse and wonderful as the city itself. Its vibrant imagery and hidden treasures make this deck one that’s hard to forget – and one you’ll want to visit again.

Tarot of TransformationThe Tarot of Transformation by Willow Arlenea and Jasmin Lee Cori takes a spiritual journey into the subconscious, in order to reveal our deepest thoughts, experiences and issues. Though it is very non-traditional in imagery, this deck goes straight to the root of the question and helps us heal. Great for spiritual, emotional or relationship readings.
